Pastured poultry

Our organic pastured poultry was well received this year, thank you very much to everyone for supporting us! We are currently sold out for the remainder of the season. Please check back in March to see the schedule for 2009. We will be continuing to raise pastured poultry that are fed organic grains. The pastured part means we move the portable pens to a fresh patch of grass at least once a day, if not more. This gives the birds fresh greens and bugs every day. We butcher on site. This way the birds do not have to be transported before they are slaughtered. The meat is great and you definitely know what went into them and where they came from. The chickens usually dress out from 4 to 5 pounds each. The final pick-up dates for the 2008 birds will be:

  • September 21st
  • October 26th
The birds will not be frozen at the is point, as they need a day to be at fridge temp. before freezing.

CSA

Thank you to all of last years CSA members! This year Nick Tomalsini and Oregrownians, who grew for restaurants and the farmers market from Upper Valley Farms last year, will be taking over the CSA as well. These guys grow amazingly tasty and superiorly nutritious fruits and veggies. Not to mention, the best salad mix this side of the Mississippi. Please go to the Oregrownian web site to let them know if you are interested in being a member this year.

Apples

This year our apples will be in their 2nd year of transitioning to organic. Harvest date is in early October. Please check back later in the season to see about availability of apples.
